Clint Curtis believes that election integrity begins with one simple rule: follow the law. That may sound obvious — but in many counties, the election process has drifted away from clear legal standards. Too often, officials rely on habits, shortcuts, or outdated training instead of the law itself.
As County Clerk, Clint will make sure every step of the election process follows the law — not just tradition.
Why Following the Law Protects Election Integrity
Our republic depends on free and fair elections. But fairness doesn’t happen by chance. It happens when election officials follow the legal process — exactly as written.
Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Over time, some procedures have been passed down informally, with new staff learning “how it’s always been done” rather than what California election law actually requires. That undermines confidence.
Clint Curtis believes voters deserve better — and election integrity demands it.
Clint’s Plan to Put the Law First
Legal Training for All Election Staff
Training should be based on state and federal election law — not just internal memos or habits. Clint will update and verify all materials used to train poll workers and staff.
No More Guesswork
Many parts of the election process are left to the counties to decide. That’s where Clint sees an opportunity — not for shortcuts, but for innovation with integrity. In every area where the law allows flexibility, Clint will develop new systems that put transparency and accountability first.
Legal Reviews of Election Procedures
Clint will audit current practices and compare them to legal standards to ensure full compliance and restore public trust. Election observation laws will no longer be ignored.
A County Clerk Who Follows the Law
Clint Curtis is running for County Clerk because he believes election integrity depends on doing things by the book. He’ll make sure:
Every election is run according to law
All staff are properly trained on legal standards
Traditions that violate or sidestep the law are eliminated
Public confidence is restored through full observation and legal compliance
All documents legally able to be given to the public will be released
When elections are run legally, they’re trusted — even by those who don’t like the results.
